Alaistair Smith
Alistair Smith has been described as "the UK's leading trainer in modern learning methods". He is a trainer, author and consultant. An outstanding presenter and motivational speaker, Alistair's workshops sell years in advance. Alistair travels throughout the UK and abroad delivering training based on his best-selling books.
After a varied and idiosyncratic career and a chequered school experience, Alistair taught in schools in England and worked with the Schools Advisory and Inspection service in a large local education authority.
He has written 11 books, featured on radio and television programmes, and spoken to over 100,000 educators at conferences throughout the UK and abroad.
Alistair's highly respected Accelerated Learning model is being used in classrooms throughout the UK as a means of raising student motivation and achievement. You can see some of the outcomes in Close Up - DVD sets which contain examples of outstanding classroom learning.
Alistair co-authored L2, the best-selling and innovative Learning to Learn programme for schools. He sits on the advisory board of the UK's Campaign for Learning 'Learning to Learn' Project and is the designated learning consultant to the English Football Association where, on behalf of their 50,000 students, he helps modernise training and coaching provision. Last season he started working with a Premiership Football Club on 'Good to Great'.
