Staff Wellbeing and Reducing Workload
- This session will look at ways to improve staff well-being, leading to an increase in performance
- Target audience: All staff, particularly SLT, HODs and those responsible for HR
Recruiting and retaining staff have now become the most vital issue facing our schools. Pro-active schools understand that staff well-being is often central to maintaining a happy and productive workforce.
We will also look at ways of reducing workload for staff, leaving them time to focus on the important issues of planning, marking and feedback.
This session will be broken down into three areas:

I am a practising teacher who has over 20 years’ experience in the secondary education sector, my specialist subject being science. Currently, I hold the position of Deputy Headteacher in an 11-18 school with responsibility for Quality of Education. Since being a senior leader, I have gained significant experience in leading whole school and subject specific professional development. I have completed the NPQH and been awarded a distinction in a master’s degree in educational leadership and in doing so have carried out research relating to curriculum and social justice.
