Writing Your School Self-Evaluation Summary (SES) 2019-20 Using the new Inspection Framework 2019

  • This course has been completely re-written taking into account the NEW Inspection Framework from September 2019.
  • Audience: Assistant Headteacher / Deputy Headteacher / Headteacher / Principal / Senior Leadership Team

The Focus of the SES writing session will be on developing leaders’ familiarisation with the new inspection judgement categories and writing the SES in a day, related to:

 

1.     Quality of Education- Intent, Implementation & Impact

2.     Behaviour & Attitudes

3.     Personal Development

4.     Leadership & Management

5.     Early Years (Primary)

 

During this training session, leaders will have the opportunity to ‘get a job done’ with the main focus of the day being to write the first draft of a succinct, evaluative and accessible SES covering all the relevant sections.

 

With limited time to provide account for the impact of your work in your school to other leaders, governors and inspectors, this NEW ECM Self Evaluation Summary will be succinct and give clear account for your strengths, areas for development and, as a consequence, outline your Key Whole School Priorities for 2019-20.

 

  • Have the first draft of your entire succinct (5-6 page), evaluative SES summary completed in the day;
  • Have a completely NEW set of easy to use ECM tools to support a high quality, systematic and succinct approach to writing an evaluative SES in the NEW Inspection Framework approach to writing an evaluative SES (using the NEW refined ECM step-by-step process to secure success);
  • Have defined a clear blue print for your whole school key priorities for 2019-20 linked to the five strands of the NEW Inspection Framework
  • Get the job done in a day!
  • Be able to offer succinct clarity to governors, external support & inspectors of your Whole School Strengths and Areas for Development

Anne Gadsden, ECM Education

Anne has fourteen years experience as a headteacher of four very contrasting schools. Her last appointment was to a school in Serious Weaknesses and under her outstanding leadership it was judged as Good by OfSTED.

 

 Anne joined Cheshire County Council as a Senior Adviser and had a portfolio of thirty schools, during that time she qualified as a School Improvement Partner and also led the Primary Leadership Programme.

 She has experience as a Senior Manager for Cheshire East managing the Behaviour Improvement Team, Education Welfare Service and the Primary Strategy Team. Her final post was that of Monitoring & Interventions Manager for all 150 schools in Cheshire East. Anne also represented the local authority on SACRE.

 

 Anne presently works for two MATs as an independent consultant working in schools in Cheshire East, Cheshire West & Chester and Stoke. She is a governor of two schools, one in Cheshire East and one in Staffordshire, where she continues her drive to improve outcomes for all children.

By Rail: Rochdale train station is a ten minute walk from the Rochdale Campus through the town centre. It is also a Metrolink station, Manchester’s light railway system, which links Rochdale with Oldham, Bury and Manchester City Centre.

By Bus: The Rochdale bus station is approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the Rochdale campus. There are frequent bus services throughout the borough which terminate in Rochdale.
