  • Refine systems, structures and programmes of monitoring & evaluation in your school in the long, medium and short term linked to your self-evaluation and strategic planning.
  • Consider the ‘practical’ application of the full range of monitoring activities- using new ECM monitoring material and useful proformas linked to the NEW inspection Framework.
  • Secure an annual overview monitoring plan involving all leaders designed to a sequence of activities to secure continuous improvements in the quality of teaching & learning across the curriculum.

 

By the end of the session you will:

  • have a full set of NEW monitoring and evaluation materials linked to the NEW Framework (NIF);
  • design and secure a monitoring plan/ programme for your school/area of responsibility;
  • be clear about how you will demonstrate the quality of pupil outcomes in the NIF through monitoring & a triangulated approach;
  • know how to match your internal assessment information in all classes to your monitoring outcomes, including how to present this on inspection;
  • create ‘school on a page’ monitoring overview to demonstrate continuous improvement;
  • consider approaches to developing lines of enquiry through learning walks with other leaders & governors;

Anne Gadsden, ECM Education

Anne has fourteen years experience as a headteacher of four very contrasting schools. Her last appointment was to a school in Serious Weaknesses and under her outstanding leadership it was judged as Good by OfSTED.

 

 Anne joined Cheshire County Council as a Senior Adviser and had a portfolio of thirty schools, during that time she qualified as a School Improvement Partner and also led the Primary Leadership Programme.

 She has experience as a Senior Manager for Cheshire East managing the Behaviour Improvement Team, Education Welfare Service and the Primary Strategy Team. Her final post was that of Monitoring & Interventions Manager for all 150 schools in Cheshire East. Anne also represented the local authority on SACRE.

 

 Anne presently works for two MATs as an independent consultant working in schools in Cheshire East, Cheshire West & Chester and Stoke. She is a governor of two schools, one in Cheshire East and one in Staffordshire, where she continues her drive to improve outcomes for all children.

By Rail: Rochdale train station is a ten minute walk from the Rochdale Campus through the town centre. It is also a Metrolink station, Manchester’s light railway system, which links Rochdale with Oldham, Bury and Manchester City Centre.

By Bus: The Rochdale bus station is approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the Rochdale campus. There are frequent bus services throughout the borough which terminate in Rochdale.
