Governor Training - Being ‘Inspection Ready’

  • How to be prepared for inspection
  • What is effective governance

At inspection the inspectors will seek evidence of the impact of those responsible for governance specifically in response to their core statutory roles. This workshop will clarify the inspection process; it will identify what governors need to know in anticipation of inspection, their contributions to the inspection process and also how to respond appropriately following release of their school’s report. HMCI’s monthly commentary in November 2015 identified that in the previous academic year there were 500 schools where inspectors were so concerned about the performance of the governing board that they called for outside experts to be drafted in to carry out an urgent external review of governance. By being ‘Ofsted ready’ this workshop will guide you towards ensuring that you’re board is able to evidence its effectiveness through its strategic leadership of your school.
