This session will provide an overview of the most recent developments in assessment and moderation at Secondary level. The session will cover (a) examinations and awarding bodies at Key Stage 4; (b) presentation of your school’s data on ASP and FFT; and (c) how to access and analyse your school’s data. Access to, and analysis of, your school’s data (pupil outcomes) is an essential strand in your duty to challenge and support the school and the Headteacher

Peter Owen (School Improvement Officer)
Peter has worked for Rochdale for more than 20 years, as Teaching and Learning Consultant, Secondary National Strategy Advisor, 14-19 Consultant and School Improvement Officer.
Prior to that, Peter was Assistant Headteacher and Head of English at an Oldham Secondary School for 15 years. Peter’s current areas of responsibility include statutory assessment and moderation, ECT induction, SACRE, Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 transition, Headteacher appointment and Performance Management, leadership development, governor training and preparation for Ofsted.
Peter combines a detailed knowledge of Rochdale schools with a commitment to raising standards for Rochdale children.
