Secondary Behaviour Management
- This course is designed to support secondary teachers specifically to employ least invasive techniques and to manage their classrooms positively to ensure that poor behaviour choices are not a barrier to students’ progress
Training Aims:
To develop the ability of all classroom practitioners to employ both de-escalation techniques and the least invasive methods to maintain secure classroom management.
Overview of the Training:
In this session, Helen will deliver strategies that can be used in any secondary classroom to ensure that teachers are able to use classroom management techniques that do not take away from learning time.
Covering everything from emotional consistency, through de-escalation and the language of choice, Helen will ensure that all those attending will have the ability to practise techniques in a safe and trusted environment

Helen Plaice
Helen has been working in schools for the last 30 years. She started as a Teacher of Mathematics and progressed as a Subject Leader. Previously Helen was Headteacher of a challenging 11-18 secondary school.
In April 2016 Helen made the decision to leave full time education and to set up as a consult-ant. Since then she has been commissioned to support schools in a variety of ways ranging from work with new subject leaders to whole school reviews. Helen has recently led reviews of both School Improvement Planning and Teaching and Learning systems - to ensure that procedures are clear and consistently implemented, and that they impact on students and their progress.
Helen has also developed and led a coaching programme modelling strategic leadership to middle and senior leaders.
