Building communication and interaction skills through adult-child interaction and play (Face to Face) - DATE CHANGED FROM 26.04.22 TO 21.06.22

• We will discuss the development of early communication including the importance of attunement, shared attention and play with young children.

Aims of the course:

• To discuss and further understand communication and language development with a focus on pre-linguistic skills through to language expansion
• To consider the importance of an attuned relationship to promote the development of early communication skills.
• To explore different types of play and how this can be used to develop early communication
• To feel more confident in using play and effective communication strategies.

   

  We will share the guiding principles of PACT (Paediatric Autism Communication therapy) and intensive interaction techniques to support delegates understanding of effective early communication strategies. 

   

  The course will be particularly beneficial for staff working with young children with social communication difficulties and autism, but will also benefit those working with children who have a range of language difficulties from children who use a limited range of sequenced sentences to those with few or no words.
