CANCELLED - Basic Counselling Skills
- This course would be appropriate for any staff members who have individual conversations with pupils which focus on making positive changes, as well as for staff delivering small group interventions on the development of emotional wellbeing.
The acquisition of basic counselling skills can offer useful and effective strategies and approaches for school staff to develop relationships and frame discussions with children and young people in order to support and empower them to problem solve.
We will develop and practise active listening skills and consider how these alongside the core conditions for therapeutic change can be used in the school setting.
