The use of Comic Strip Conversations to support pupils with ASC
- Carol Gray introduced the world to Comic Strip Conversations back in 1994 – they are now used worldwide to support pupils with ASC understand social situations
Comic strip conversations use stick figures to represent social interactions and abstract aspects of conversations. Colour is also used to represent the emotional content of what is being said.
By seeing the different elements of a conversation presented visually, some of the more difficult concepts of social communication (such as recognising the feelings of others) are made more ‘concrete’ and are therefore easier to understand.
