Domestic Abuse and MARAC Training - CANCELLED

  • This is a 2.5 hours hour briefing taking participants through the background and workings of the MARAC process. (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference)

 

In Rochdale we are working towards a good practice model that upon disclosure of domestic violence and abuse professionals must complete the safelives and refer appropriately based on level of risk. This seminar will provide you with insight of using the safelives risk assessment and inform of local pathways.

 

What this course is about:

To enable practitioners and mangers to become confident and skilled in using, or supervising others to use the domestic abuse Safelives DASH risk assessment tool DASH (Domestic Abuse Stalking & Harassment)

To develop an understanding of the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) process

 

Who this course is for:

  •  All practitioners/managers who are likely to come into contact with victims of domestic violence and abuse
  • Any practitioner working in Rochdale with children, families, parents or carers.

 

This session will cover:

  • What is a MARAC?
  • What do we mean by ‘high risk’ cases?
  • What factors influence risk?
  • A detailed look at the Safelives DASH risk identification tool
  • How to refer into the MARAC

     

Aims of the session:

  • Raise awareness of MARACs, their purpose and how they operate.
  • Increase understanding and use of the Safelives  DASH risk identification tool
  • Increase multi-agency referrals into the MARAC
