Team for Autism & Social Communication, Rochdale Additional Needs Service

TASC (Team for Autism and Social Communication) are part of RANS (Rochdale Additional Needs Service) and work with all mainstream Primary and Secondary Schools within the Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton Borough.

We have a team of Specialist Teachers and Teaching Assistants who have all worked within Rochdale schools as classroom practitioners. Many of the team have also been SENCos themselves and understand the complexities facing our schools today.

Within the team, we work closely with other specialist teams and NHS colleagues.

All our training is designed with Rochdale schools in mind. As a team, we are able to use specific knowledge, to tailor our trainingso it reflect the needs of the pupils in our schools.

Within our team, we follow Dr Luke Beardon’s equation of Autism + Environment = Outcome. We recognise that all schools are different due a wide range of factors and as a result, the environment is different in each case. Whilst there are lots of strategies and advice, which provide a golden thread, actually knowing our individual schools and using our relational approaches gives us a unique position to provide you with high quality training.
