Specialist Initial Teacher Training: An Introduction to Primary Languages - Part 1 of 2 - CANCELLED
- Part 1 - 11th Feb (full day) - In line with the ITT Core Content Framework, trainees will explore the fundamental principles of teaching a language and will become confident in their understanding of the subject.
- Part 2 - 9th May (AM) - We now build on the knowledge gained in Day 1 to further increase the trainees’ confidence in teaching Primary Languages.
ITT Part 1 explores:
- National guidance and support for Primary Languages.
- How to develop effective speaking, listening, reading and writing skills with your pupils in a Modern Foreign Language.
- Understanding how Primary Languages fits within the Primary Curriculum.
- Support for the training year for all trainees with free access to tailored resources, further online training and language upskilling using our bespoke ITT VLE.
ITT Part 2 explores:
- How to inspire your pupils and bring intercultural understanding into the classroom.
- How to embed languages across the curriculum, looking at cross curricular learning in a creative and purposeful way.
- How to develop teaching of Primary Languages as trainees embark on their teaching career.
