What is Early Talk Boost? An evidence-based targeted level intervention, which narrows the language gap. The training will give participants the skills and knowledge to understand the rationale behind the intervention, identify appropriate children, measure their progress and deliver the intervention successfully. Can be delivered using Pupil Premium/Early Years Pupil Premium

Course Objective: To train practitioners to deliver the intervention to groups of up to 8 children aged 3-4 years old with delayed language development.

Tutors:

Fiona Collins & Bobbie Bracken/Gemma Croasdell (Rochdale BC)

This is advised by ICAN so that ideally a TA can deliver the intervention and the Teacher/Senco can make links from the intervention to class teaching and take responsibility for each child’s learning.

Phase: Nursery children aged 3-4 years

The Early Talk Boost Intervention Pack (Intervention Manual, Parent Training, Tracker Tool, Toolkit and 10 x 8 Jake and Tizzy story books) are purchased from I CAN at a cost of £450 if you decide to implement the intervention in your school. Further details from www.ican.org.uk/earlytalkboost

The intervention activities cover: Attention and Listening, Understanding and using Early Sentences, Vocabulary, Building Sentences, Telling Stories, Taking Turns,  and Conversation Skills

Please note that lunch will not be provided, however refreshments will be available throughout the session
