Gifted and Talented - Group 2 (Day 3)
This course is run over 3 separate days, over the course of the school year. It is aimed at children who are entering year 6 as a secure year 6 writer. A teacher and up to 3 children will be expected to attend all 3 days training throughout the year.
The course trainers lead a full day of teaching which, over the 3 days will cover:
- Narrative writing
- Poetry
- Drama and role play
- Quick writing activities
- A variety of non-fiction genres
- Presentation skills
Objective: To enable G&T writers to experience a breadth of writing opportunities.
- Day 1 – Thursday 29th November 2018
- Day 2 – Thursday 14th February 2019
- Day 3 – Thursday 28th March 2019
*Lunch will not be provided, therefore delegates are advised to bring their own. Refreshments will be provided throughout the session

Esther Logue and Elizabeth Teague
Elizabeth Teague (External Consultant)
Elizabeth has many years teaching and management experience in Rochdale Primary schools. She was also a leading literacy teacher within the authority. Elizabeth then became a Teaching and Learning Consultant for Rochdale LEA. She is now an independent Teaching and Learning Consultant specialising in English CPD for KS1 and KS2 teachers.
Esther Logue (Teaching and Learning Advisor, RBC)
Esther has significant experience of teaching across KS2 within Rochdale. Current roles include Headteacher in Calderdale, Operational Moderation manager for KS2 writing and Teaching and Learning Consultant specialising in English. Esther also has many years experience working for the STA, DfE and NFER on KS2 English Assessment.
