Governor Training - An Introduction to Trauma

• This course asks governors to look at their understanding behaviours often identified within school and consider what may be driving these.
• It provides an introduction to understanding what Trauma is and in particular how Early childhood Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can impact on a teacher’s ability to teach effectively.
• You will be provided with opportunities to discuss and share their experiences and understanding of trauma influenced responses or trauma related behaviours which have provided them with challenge
• You will undertake a brief audit of your understanding of trauma using a template and look at how this can be applied to a school setting.
• You will also be provided with resources for further reading and links to further training / online materials.
