  • This is a one day course that will enable you to fully understand the process of early years inspection in maintained schools and academies.
  • You will be supported by ECM advisers to prepare for observations, meetings and we will help you to gather and evaluate important information so you feel confident and organised.

By the end of the course you will:

  • understand how the effectiveness of the early years provision: quality and standards may be evaluated using the latest inspection framework;
  • have some practical strategies and resources to prepare staff for inspection;
  • have an understanding of baseline, progress and school readiness measures, including a’ good level of development’ and a new way to measure ‘exceeding’; and
  • consider the effectiveness and impact of the current early years curriculum, teaching, continuous provision and assessment.
