Sarah Warley, CEO and Founder of The Key Clinic will open the conference on Thursday morning alongside her colleague Lily with their session around reflexes and hearing as well as gut/biochemistry. The Key Clinic provides expert neurodevelopmental, auditory and nutrition therapy for children and adults. They focus on providing tailored, drug-free therapy solutions to meet the unique needs of each individual. Their approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and a commitment to fostering long-term emotional wellbeing, cognitive development, and functional independence.
Joel Tennant will open the afternoon with his session 'Against The Odds:The Power of One Trusted Adult'. Joel is the Director of Children and Families at The Big Life Group and founder of Against The Odds. Drawing on both lived experience and professional practice, Joel delivers powerful keynote talks and workshops that help schools better understand behaviour, trauma and resilience. His work has inspired thousands of young people and equipped education professionals with practical insight that creates lasting impact beyond the classroom.
In this powerful and thought-provoking keynote, Joel shares how lived experience of the care system, homelessness and adversity shaped his understanding of trauma, trust and resilience and what every educator can do to change a young person’s future.
This isn’t a talk about problems. It’s a talk about possibility!
Through honest storytelling, practical insight and real-life lessons, delegates will leave with a deeper understanding of the hidden experiences many children carry, why traditional approaches don’t always work, and how one trusted adult can become the turning point in a young person’s life. Every day, professionals work with children whose behaviour tells only part of the story.
Expect to be challenged, inspired and reminded why the work you do matters.
Hayley Barnard will close the conference on Friday morning with her session 'Feel The Fear And Lead Anyway'. Hayley is the Founder of Mix and a leadership expert who helps organisations navigate change and complexity. Drawing on her work with senior leaders and her experience leading extreme expeditions, she brings practical insight into bravery, mindset and leading well under pressure. She also describes herself as an ‘accidental adventurer’, so expect to hear about dodging tankers, hungry polar bears and stepping into leadership when you’d really rather not!
Hayley's session is a practical and inspiring keynote for school leaders navigating pressure and change. She combines leadership insight with powerful real-life stories to help you lead with clarity, courage and perspective – even when resources are stretched and expectations feel relentless.
You’ll leave with:
- A practical way to reset your mindset under pressure
- The confidence to try new approaches, even when it feels uncomfortable
- A clearer sense of where to focus your energy as a leader
- Insight into building a culture that focuses on solutions, not “whinge vouchers”
- Clarity to ask for support – and mobilise it – more effectively
- Freedom to let go of control and unlock leadership in others
- Simple ideas to support yourself while leading others
Expect honesty, humour, and a much-needed boost for leaders who are doing an incredibly tough job!
