Governor Training - Cared for and Cared by – the school Governor’s role in the education journey of a Cared for Child’

  • This training session describes the journey a child takes before and as they become ‘Cared for’ by the Local Authority.

We are all ‘Corporate Parents’ for our Cared for Children (Looked After Children). This training session describes the journey a child takes before and as they become ‘Cared for’ by the Local Authority. How do children become Cared for? And then, most crucially, what are their educational needs? How can schools work to support those needs? This training session will give Governors both an educational and a Social Care insight into the needs and lives of some of the most vulnerable children in our schools.
