Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 Transition Task Group

  • The Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 Transition Task Group meets to plan the transition of Rochdale pupils from Primary to Secondary and the e-transition transfer of data which accompanies that.

The meeting is open to any Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 practitioners who wish to attend, and we have representation on the group from Primary Headteachers, Secondary senior leaders, the Local Authority and SIMS Support Team.

Peter Owen (School Improvement Officer, Rochdale MBC)

Peter Owen (School Improvement Officer)

Peter has worked for Rochdale for more than 20 years, as Teaching and Learning Consultant, Secondary National Strategy Advisor, 14-19 Consultant and School Improvement Officer.

Prior to that, Peter was Assistant Headteacher and Head of English at an Oldham Secondary School for 15 years. Peter’s current areas of responsibility include statutory assessment and moderation, ECT induction, SACRE, Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3 transition, Headteacher appointment and Performance Management, leadership development, governor training and preparation for Ofsted.

Peter combines a detailed knowledge of Rochdale schools with a commitment to raising standards for Rochdale children.

By Road: The Rochdale campus is 2.6 miles from junction 20 off the M62. Follow the signs for Rochdale town centre

By Rail: Rochdale train station is a ten minute walk from the Rochdale Campus through the town centre. It is also a Metrolink station, Manchester’s light railway system, which links Rochdale with Oldham, Bury and Manchester City Centre.

By Bus: The Rochdale bus station is approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the Rochdale campus. There are frequent bus services throughout the borough which terminate in Rochdale.
