Hayley Reynolds, Advanced Practitioner (Dsl), Rochdale Borough Council

I joined Rochdale Borough Council, straight out of University in 2000.  I gained experience in a number of Social Care teams both in Adult Care initially and then in Children’s Social Care. I have spent a large amount of my career in the Youth Justice Service.  I gained my BSc in Social Work whilst in the YJS in 2006.  I have worked in a number of Children’s Social Care teams as a Social Worker, all in Rochdale, and for the past 6 ½ years I have been an IRO in the Safeguarding Children Unit, with a responsibility for monitoring and review of Child Protection and Cared 4 Children’s care planning.

I am currently seconded in to schools to support and supervise Designated Safeguarding Leads in a number of the borough’s High School’s, which is very closely linked to my keen interest in ensuring we are supporting children and their families to get the very best advice, guidance and support as and when they need it.
