Primary Science Subject Leader Network

  • The Network welcomes new and established primary science subject leaders of all experience levels to share and improve practice, providing an opportunity to speak with other subject leaders in your region about the issues that are affecting each of you
  • Expert-led professional development inputs will support you with up-to-date issues, skills and resources.
  • Attending these termly networks is an interactive and practical way to help you to tackle these issues in your school, support you in your role as a leader, raise the profile of science and improve the outcomes for your pupils.

What is it?

  • Termly half-day sessions offering high quality professional learning on contemporary, core curriculum knowledge, skills and understanding around curriculum and assessment.
  • Opportunity to meet and network with peers in person in your local area, share practice and learn together.

The Science and Engineering Education Research and Innovation Hub (SEERIH) is a nationally recognised centre of science and engineering education, based at The Univeristy of Manchester. We develop and engage teachers in innovative, research-informed continuous professional development programmes to ensure high-quality learning outcomes for young people.

Eleanor Atkinson, SEERIH Consultant, SEERIH (Science and Engineering Education Research and Innovation Hub), University of Manchester

Eleanor has a wealth of experience in primary science education, teaching science for 16 years across mainstream and SEND schools. In 2015 Eleanor was awarded a Primary Science Teaching Award and became a lifelong Fellow of the Primary Science Teaching Trust. She is also an Explorify Champion, an assessor and Hub Leader for the Primary Science Quality Mark, and co-ordinates a PSTT cluster of schools.
