Reflections and implications on the new Secondary curriculum in science
- An interactive session to discuss developments with the new science curriculum.
- We will consider suggested developments for science including climate science, critical creative thinking and triple science offer.
- This will be an opportunity to discuss with other science teams your curriculum developments to support your year 7 students who will be the first cohort assessed under the new model.

Victoria Rigby, STEM Learning PDL
I am an enthusiastic STEM Education consultant working from early years to ‘A' level in a variety of settings, engaging pupils, teachers and industrial/business partners in professional learning. Throughout my career, I have held many roles from an advanced skills teacher, senior leader in schools, local authority adviser and part of a national school improvement team with national strategies.
My work takes me across the UK supporting leaders and teams to develop outstanding STEM education as well as writing and delivering ongoing professional development materials for national organisations.
Other projects in education and industry have been many and varied - cross phase transition projects, supporting outstanding STEM provision across community groups, developing local science fairs, industrial placements as well as writing and leading science specific and careers in STEM CPD. More recently, I have been building capacity for teachers in SEND settings to improve their confidence and ability to deliver STEM curriculum across subjects and adapting national curriculum for learners with diverse needs.
