- Rita Jordan is a Professor in Autism Studies at the University of Birmingham
- Alex Kelly is a Speech and Language Therapist with over 30 years experience

The eagerly awaited second Rochdale Autism Conference will be soon upon us. Again providing a platform to raise greater understanding and awareness of ASC.It`s aim to give schools, parents and other professional’s personal perspectives of ASC and strategies to support social interaction. We are extremely pleased to have the following key note speakers:
Ros Blackburn
Ros is an adult with autism. Now at 48 Ros lectures nationally and internationally. In this talk Ros will draw on her experience of living with severe autism and her considerable experience both as a recipient of services and increasingly as an observer of education and care approaches
Rita Jordan
Emeritus Professor in Autism Studies at the University of Birmingham and also works as a consultant and trainer. She has written and researched on many aspects of autism and has been involved in training events, consultations and conferences all over the world
Alex Kelly
Alex Kelly is a speech and language therapist with over 30 years’ experience of working with people who have difficulties with their social skills, self-esteem and their relationships. She is best known for being the author of the hugely popular TALKABOUT resources
Other features
In addition we have talk from Catherine Booth a Rochdale parent of a daughter with ASC. Rochdale`s new initiative on developing Autism Champions in every school.
There will also be a range of stalls provided by autism services and organisations.
