Governor Training - Inspection (Face to Face) - CANCELLED
- Is your school is the window for inspection this year, or next year? This session is an opportunity to work through what that means for governors.
- What sorts of things are governors asked by inspectors when they visit?
- What do we need to make sure is in our standard practice so our minutes and these conversations line up?
- What are the new things that inspectors will focus on?
- How does the inspector meeting with governors fit in with how the overall judgement is made at the end of the inspection?

David Barter, Senior Performance & Achievement Officer (Rochdale Borough Council)
Dave Barter has been a community governor of a primary school and a staff governor of a secondary, as well as having had responsibility for governor services on two local authorities. He has been a senior leader in two secondary schools and two LAs, and has extensive training experience in topics as diverse as IT in education, e-safety, performance management, use of data, and writing a SEF/SDP. He is currently Rochdale Council’s Senior Performance & Achievement Officer.

By Road: The Rochdale campus is 2.6 miles from junction 20 off the M62. Follow the signs for Rochdale town centre
By Rail: Rochdale train station is a ten minute walk from the Rochdale Campus through the town centre. It is also a Metrolink station, Manchester’s light railway system, which links Rochdale with Oldham, Bury and Manchester City Centre.
By Bus: The Rochdale bus station is approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the Rochdale campus. There are frequent bus services throughout the borough which terminate in Rochdale.
