Engaging Reluctant Learners in Reading and Writing – KS1

• The course will look at strategies to motivate children who may be disengaged, withdrawn or reluctant to learn in English.
• Children find it difficult to engage for a number of reasons eg the learning may be too difficult or too easy for them, they may be having issues unrelated to school or even the style of learning may not suit them.
• The course will aim to give teachers strategies and ideas to reach these children and to engage and motivate them to learn.

Elizabeth has many years teaching and management experience in Rochdale Primary schools.  She was also a leading literacy teacher within the authority.  Elizabeth then became a Teaching and Learning Consultant for Rochdale LEA.  She is now an independent Teaching and Learning Consultant specialising in English CPD for KS1 and KS2 teachers.
