Year 6 Science - What you need to teach know and ideas for teaching working scientifically well

  • In this session we will have an indepth look at the working scientifically statements from the national curriculum, examples of investogations and how to teach these within your Year 6 lessons.
  • You will come away from these lessons with lots examples of different types of practical you can do and improved confidence in their delivery.

I am a science teacher with over 20 years experience, teaching all 3 disciplines in all key stages. I have led science in a 5-18 through school and been a whole school teaching and learning lead. My current role is as the co- lead of a Science Learning Partnership working with schools across Lancashire and Cumbria and Greater Manchester to improve science teaching and outcomes for learners, by supporting teachers subject knowledge and curriculum development. Delivering CPD and supporting schools to pupils and schools to engender a love of the subject.
