ELKLAN courses are designed to help support the communication skills of all children and young people - as well as those with identified speech, language and communication needs.
The training will consist of 10 half day sessions delivered by accredited teaching and learning advisers. Please see the attached for an overview of the sessions.
Each person taking the course will need to have the Elklan Language Builders 5-11s book to support their learning https://www.elklan.co.uk/resources/language-builders-series/language-builders. The LA will provide one book per school.
Schools can fund their member of staff to be accredited at a cost of £72.50 per learner. Accredited staff will have weekly tasks to complete with a learning log that will need marking. The marking will be £90 per learning log, in total £162.50 per learner

This course will include 6 meetings each year initially –one per half term, and its purpose is to bring Primary School Music Subject Leaders together to share information, resources and good practice.

This course is designed for subject Leaders and senior leaders
We take delegates through both the methodology of a deep dive on inspection, as well as a practical approach to planning, timetabling and delivering a deep dive in your school in science.
Leaders will feel confident in how to approach a deep dive in science and with a ‘Job Done’- this being all the planning and organisation around a deep dive (and other forms of monitoring) having been completed, ready to conduct a deep dive
The session will focus on using strategies from ELKLAN Language Builders to support children with reading comprehension and speaking then writing in sentences.
BLANKs levels of questioning can be used to develop children’s language and reading comprehension skills.
Colourful semantics can provide support for children as they develop the ability speak and to write in sentences.

This supervision session is available to those who have completed the 3 Connect to Communicate training days and wish to seek support to enable them to continue to develop their practice using the Connect to Communicate approach
Delegates can attend supervision on 7th March AM OR 2nd May PM
The session will be split into 3 x1 hour slots and delegates will be allocated a place prior to the day

This will also include insight and advice about how your music provision in school could and should look in order to be successful and to be able to showcase the work that you do throughout the year.
