This development programme specifically designed for Teaching Assistants will run throughout the year and consist of 6 sessions. TA’s can attend all or a selection of these sessions.
Scaffolding is a critical skill for maximising pupil progress.
This session in the TA Development Programme focuses on the EEF’s recommendations for effective TA deployment.
Participants will learn how to provide temporary, targeted support that gradually fades as the pupil gains competence.
We will practice specific scaffolding techniques, including modelling, prompting, and questioning, to foster independent learning.
We will explore the principles of ‘just right challenge’ and ‘prompt reduction’ in developing greater levels of independence for pupils with developmental delay.
