This session will explore how neuroscience can inform our teaching to ensure the most able students in our science lessons have opportunities to develop deep thinking and appropriately utilise working memory.
It will address the need to adapt learning to stretch and challenge in science lessons.

Join art consultant Adele Darlington as she shares how we can use the power of art in the classroom to explore and celebrate the themes of diversity and inclusion
Adele will discuss the importance of mirrors and windows in the art curriculum, that is ensuring all communities within a school’s setting feel represented alongside being given the opportunity to see into the worlds of others too.
During this session, Adele will share and discuss some of the diverse, immersive and ambitious experiences she has provided for the children she has taught and the impact they have had on their knowledge and understanding of art

This training is for staff working with children with physical needs.
This course will look relevant moving and handling legislation and guidelines relating to safe moving and handling for staff who are undertaking these tasks with pupils.

Subject leaders will visit different schools to look at good practice and ways of working. The learning environment will be looked at as well as the promotion of English.
The host school will organise the timetable at the school.
The first visit will be at Broadfield and other visits will be arranged at subject leader meetings
The visits are only open to English Subject Leaders

Our regular School Breakfast Briefings provide a valuable opportunity for school leaders from all sectors—nursery, primary, secondary, and special—to stay informed and connected.
These sessions offer the latest updates on key activities within the school service, including OFSTED and DfE information, and give leaders a chance to engage directly with local authority officers and colleagues.
The briefings are designed to improve communication, transparency, and information sharing, while fostering networking opportunities.
Each session concludes with a Q&A, encouraging open dialogue and collaboration across the Rochdale education community.
